Dr. Greg Anderson, Dean of the Faculty of Science at Thompson Rivers University is pleased to invite you to Science Revealed, the Dean’s Lecture Series featuring Dr. Fiona Schmiegelow from Yukon University. The lecture series brings renowned and captivating scientists from various scientific disciplines to the TRU Kamloops campus to reveal scientific discoveries and their application, making science accessible to audiences with diverse backgrounds and interests.
We hear a lot about how ecosystems around the world are experiencing unprecedented rates of human-caused change. In this lecture, Dr. Schmiegelow will talk about “Landscape Conservation in the Anthrocene – Enhancing Resilience to Combat Uncertainty.” Dr. Schmiegelow will alert us to the accelerating pressures placed on our ecosystems and explore emerging models of conservation through a Canadian lens, including the contribution of Indigenous-led stewardship initiatives.
